Our Excursion to Javier Zamora’s Reading

On Friday, September 19, our English advanced course attended a reading of the book Solito at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. The author, Javier Zamora, spoke about his personal story, which the book is based on. He also shared his views on political topics such as immigration and racism, and shared how he coped mentally with the burdens of his extraordinary journey at a young age. Together with the actor Benito Bause, Zamora read several passages from Solito. At the end, the audience had the chance to ask questions.

After the event, copies of the book were available for purchase, and Javier Zamora signed them while talking to readers and answering more questions. In my opinion, it was a very successful and inspiring trip, much more interesting than I had expected. I was able to take a lot away from this encounter and also enjoyed it very much.
